Latex Mattress Health
when you go to college, can you bring your own mattress?
For health reasons, I like latex beds. I refuse to sleep on anything else. When I live in a dorm, can I bring in my own Latex Mattress?
The reason – the fire retardants that they put on the regular mattresses get me sick (not to mention they are carcinogenic). Latex beds are naturally fire retardant and therefore don’t need to be treated with any chemicals.
I plan on getting a storage unit – I suppose I could put the provided mattress there.
Geeze, people act like a bed is an expensive thing. I already have it, so it isn’t like I am going out and purchasing a brand new one. o_O
As long as you put the one that was in there back when you leave, yes. The only issue you may have is that the school may be worried about an infestation of bedbugs, so they may not allow it for those reasons. Ask the housing department to be sure. Good luck!
