Latex Mattress Off Gassing

What is a memory foam mattress?
Memory Foam is made with a polyurethane material. In order to increase its density, other chemicals are added which increases its viscosity level. The combination of chemicals used determines the visco-elastic nature of the polyurethane foam and depending on the combination, the foam has the characteristic of being firmer in cooler temperatures warmer and softer environments. Higher density memory foam reacts to body heat. He reacts to that in a few minutes the product forms around body shape. The property of the polyurethane foam can be demonstrated by pressing one hand on the foam, then withdraw. The foam retains the impression clear hand.
In the 1970s, NASA developed memory foam for use in their space program. With the hope that the ability the uniform distribution of pressure of the foam, the phenomenon of extreme G-force would be supported. Ironically, the material has never been used in a space program. In the 1990s, the product has entered the commercial market in the form of bands above and then as a foam mattress.
A medical company, Tempur-Pedic, first realized the commercial potential of applying the foam. They researched the different versions of foam and came out with a product they called "Tempur". The Tempur is sustainable and had the property of reducing the pressure.
When memory foam was first released on the market, it was known as T-foam. He has published chemical gas making unhealthy to be used in an enclosed environment. Over the years, that smell has been reduced, but could not get rid of. The first T-Foam has promised a great product as an ornament bed or cushioning for wheelchairs. But it was noticed that there were problems with wear on a relatively short period. This first version foam was not found to be durable and would often crack and remain compressed after a while.
Memory Foam showed excellent characteristics in response to temperature changes and its ability to reduce pressure by spreading weight evenly over a larger area. Therefore, the foam has also found an application in medical treatment of patients by preventing so-called bed sores "that the patient may develop when bedridden. In other medical applications, the foam is used in a wheelchair seat cushions, pillows or padding for persons suffering from pain in the long term postural problems. For the heat retaining properties of the foam, it makes the pain more bearable for a patient suffering from back injuries.
Memory foam is generally more dense, which makes it heavier than other foams. Because it is more heavy, the foam is more supportive and comfortable. A new memory foam mattress has a chemical odor that is unpleasant for some people. Although distributed no longer take the smell away, some people remain sensitive to the smell.
Today memory foam is used in many commercial products such as mattresses, blankets and pillows, sleeping pills, position, office furniture, upholstery automobile seat, shoes, cribs, car seats, wheel chair cushions, computer carrying cases, handles of tennis rackets and more.
